Ash Long lives in Melbourne, Australia.

Married to Fleur since 1978, he is a father of two and grandfather of four.

Ash is Managing Director of Local Media Pty Ltd, publishers of the Melbourne Observer and Local Paper network of community newspapers. He has had a career in the media spanning more than half-a-century.

In the community service sphere, he has had many involvements, including membership of Freemasons Victoria since 1978, where he holds the rank of Past Senior Grand Warden. After five years as Grand Superintendent of Communication, he is currently project manager for the fraternity's involvements in the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal and the Sleep At The G event to fight youth homelessness.
